Membership in the New Jersey Nursery & Landscape Association is open to landscape, nursery, garden center, suppliers, students, and those affiliated with the industry. Following are the types of membership NJNLA offers:
ACTIVE: Those firms actively engaged in a nursery, landscape contracting, or garden center operation. Dues are based on company's gross dollar volume (gdv). For 2006, here's the breakdown:
$300 dues rate: GDV under $500,000
$400 dues rate: GDV $501,000 to $999,999
$500 dues rate: GDV over $1 million
ALLIED: Those companies which supply the active members with their wares. Mulch distributors, cart distributors, equipment dealers, tractor dealers all fall in this category. Allied membership also includes nursery, landscape contractors, and garden center firms not located in the state of New Jersey.
STUDENT: Open to all college students within New Jersey who wish to gain experience and contacts through an NJNLA membership. Membership entitles the student to attend chapter meetings at discounted rates. Cost of 2006 Student Membership is $25.00.
AFFILIATE: Examples of an affiliate member would be a professor, a landscape architect, a county extension employee. If you feel you fall under the affiliate membership, call NJNLA to verify, 1.800.314.4836. Cost of 2006 Affiliate Membership is $150.00.
