Summers almost over. Time to continue to monitor plant health especially those that were newly planted this season.
- Monitor moisture levels in your gardens. Use water wise practices to maintain your plants.
- Look for drought stress in plants i.e. wilting or curling of leaves.
- Remove all weeds. These weeds will compete with your plants for moisture.
- Watch for early fall color on plants, This could be a sign of poor health and vigor.
- On a hot day think about what a well place shade tree could do to help. Plan for it in fall planting planning
- Plan a compost pile for all the fall leaves.
- Identify hazardous trees or large limbs before the hurricane season.
- Plan fall plantings.
- Consult with a Certified Nursery and Landscape professional about the benefits of fall planting.
